American indie rock legends The National took to the Eden Sessions stage last night, fresh from performing at Glastonbury. Formed 1999, the five-piece are comprised of vocalist Matt Berninger alongside two sets of brothers – twins Aaron and Bryce Dessner, and Scott and Bryan Devendorf.

Their latest album, Laugh Track, was received with critical acclaim upon its release in September 2023. Band members have collaborated with some of the music world’s biggest stars, including Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.

The support act was This Is The Kit. Remaining Eden Sessions include Rick Astley plus The Lightning Seeds (tonight); Tom Grennan (Friday); and JLS plus Tinchy Stryder (Saturday, July 13).
