A NEW initiative connecting children from a nursery with elderly people in a care home has begun in St Austell.
Youngsters from the Minibugs St Austell nursery on Moorland Road are taking part in the intergenerational programme with residents at the Wentworth care home.
Nursery area manager Katherine Lawrence said: “Our intergenerational programme is an initiative that connects children from our nursery with elderly residents from the Wentworth residential home through engaging activities like storytelling, armchair yoga, arts and crafts, music sessions and games.

“These intergenerational visits create a nurturing environment where ages from three years to 99 years learn from each other and form meaningful bonds. Great fun was had by all on our first visit. We had the best time.”
