A CAR PARK in the centre of St Austell has gone cashless. Drivers wishing to park at White River Place, off Trinity Street, now have to pay be phone, card or online.

White River Place centre manager Bill Holland told the Voice: “We have brought cashless in to improve the customer experience when using the car park.

“Since covid, we have annually seen an increase in cashless usage in our car park - it has now become over 85 per cent of our transactions.

“Factoring in that the only regular fault/issue reported by customers is that they experience coin jams within the pay machines, going cashless eliminates these sorts of issues and will make paying for parking smoother for everyone.”
