CAMBORNE Town Band triumphed at the West of England Bandsmen’s Festival, also called the Bugle Band Contest, held on Saturday.
Camborne won the Royal Trophy in the championship section. St Dennis were the runners-up with Bodmin in third place, and the best player was Ellie Joy of St Dennis.
Roche Brass Band took first place in the first section with the best player being Andy Mitchell.
The second section saw St Austell in top spot with Mount Charles second and St Pinnock third. Hannah Hawken won the best player award for St Austell and also took the David Jane Player Award.
Other results: third section, Bideford; fourth section, Bugle; youth section, St Austell, with St Dennis second, the best player being Callum Pascoe from St Dennis, and the best cornet player being Violet Margetts, of St Austell; training section, Soundhouse Brass Academy; deportment, Bodmin, with St Dennis second.
