Cadets and staff of 147 Camborne and District Sqn and the Camborne branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) visited Tesco in the town on Sunday to help raise funds for this year’s Poppy Appeal.
Camborne Library are also welcoming people to learn how to crochet their own Remembrance poppy brooch this Saturday 10am. Places can be booked by popping into the library or messaging their Facebook page.
Camborne’s Remembrance parade will begin at 10am on November 12, leaving Commercial Square at 10.40am and will make its way down Trelowarren Street on to Union Street, across Cross Street, down Commercial Street before arriving at St Martin & St Meriadoc Parish Church for the laying of wreaths.
The Redruth branch of RBL were also out in force last weekend and poppy merchandise is available from their manned collection points at Tesco in Tolgus and Aldi at Avers, as well as other shops, cafés and pubs throughout the town.
Redruth’s Remembrance Sunday parade will take place between 10.30am to 12pm. The parade will leave on Sea View Terrace at 10.30am and goes along to Albany Road and then into Victoria Park where a two-minute silence will be conducted and organisations lay wreaths around the war memorial.
The parade will then head back to Albany Road and head to Heaton Terrace. St Andrew’s Church are welcoming the public for a service and light refreshments at 12pm.
