BID Camborne is launching its Prosperity Accelerator Partnership and is inviting anyone with an interest in doing business in the town to attend one of two inaugural meetings.
The first will take place online from 10am to 11am on Friday, August 9 and the second in person at Camborne Community Centre on Monday, August 12 from 6-7pm.
Funded through Camborne Town Deal and delivered by BID Camborne, the initiative aims to increase business opportunities and stimulate usage of empty commercial properties by encouraging business partnerships.
“Anyone with a keen interest in developing the business economy of Camborne is invited to participate,” said Samantha Hussey, Chair of BID Camborne.
“We particularly welcome local businesspeople, education and training providers, commercial landlords, letting agents, property developers and students.
“It’s all about the business community working together to establish Camborne as a key economic force in Cornwall and the Southwest.
“Meetings will not be more frequent than quarterly, and members can undertake actions in their own time by sharing information, suggesting ideas and identifying possible funding streams.
“Camborne has a lot to offer existing and startup businesses, and this is a real chance to join forces, get involved and make a personal and communal difference.”
Camborne was awarded £23.7m in Town Deal funding – the highest amount in Cornwall.
Louis Gardner, Cornwall Council Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Economy, said: “It’s great to see phase 2 of Project A-Void underway. With funding to improve occupied business premises now distributed, it’s time for everyone with an interest in the town centre to work together to find creative ways to utilise empty shops with the help of Town Deal funding from Cornwall Council. I wish the new partnership every success.”
