PEOPLE turned out in force to support the Christmas lights switch on in St Austell.
A whole host of events took place as the town welcomed in the festive season on Saturday.
The day was organised by St Austell BID (Business Improvement District) and the White River Place shopping centre, with support from the town council.
Bill Holland, manager of the centre, said: “There was an abundance of positivity and joy throughout the whole day, the atmosphere electric with the buzz of packed streets and shops. Thank you to everyone who visited, you truly were a credit to our great town - St Awesome!”
There was free entertainment and activities for children, and Rewind Radio kept things moving along before mayor Cllr Julian Young conducted the switch on.
BID manager Annette Miller was thrilled with how many people were in the town centre and was particularly pleased with how bustling the various activities were.
