DOG owners can take the lead and fight for better mental health in Cornwall at the next Bark Run on Sunday, March 2, at National Trust Trelissick.
Dogs, walkers and runners will take on a brand new, bespoke 5k made accessible by The National Trust to support mental health charity Mind Cornwall. The route takes in part of the gardens, woodland paths which weave around ancient oaks, and private parkland with views of the Fal Estuary, finishing outside the stately Trelissick House.
The event is suitable for keen walkers and enthusiastic runners alike, while people can join in all the fun without a dog in this family friendly event. The most barked about event of the year for paw-some supporters and human best friends, is sponsored by Edhen Vets and in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen.

Louis Mullan, from Edhen Veterinary Practice, said: “Edhen Vets are thrilled to be supporting Mind Cornwall for Bark Run 2025. At Edhen Vets, we understand and promote the incredible impact pets can have on positive mental well-being as they offer comfort, joy, and companionship.
“Outdoor exercise, especially with dogs, not only improves physical health but also boosts mood and reduces stress. Positive mental health is hugely important within the veterinary profession where emotional challenges are part of daily life.
“By supporting Mind Cornwall and this amazing event we hope to raise awareness and contribute to a happier, healthier future for pets and people alike.”

Participants will be joining in the fight for better mental health in Cornwall. With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem the need for their vital services is at an all-time high.
Although affiliated to Mind, the national charity, Cornwall Mind is an independently registered and funded local charity, dependent on fundraising and donations to continue vital work in the community.
With this in mind, the organisers are being encouraging waggy tailed supporters to seek sponsorship. Participants can sign up and create their own JustGiving page.
Every dog who raises a minimum of £20 sponsorship will receive a certificate and a Cornwall Mind dog bandana as a thank you for their paw-some fundraising.

Paul Reeve, CEO Cornwall Mind said: “It is fantastic to be working with The National Trust, the teams at Trelissick, The Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen, Seasalt and The Dog House again for this year’s Bark Run.
“Also, we welcome new relationships with Edhen Vets as our headlining sponsor, and generous sponsorship from Harland Accountants. This is such an exciting event for both people and dogs as well as a great opportunity to support a cause that is so important.
“Mental ill health affects 1 in 4 of us, so if it isn’t you, it will be someone you care about. We support around 1,000 people a year and absolutely couldn’t do this without the support of our partners and especially people signing up to our fundraising events.
