TWO fire crews were called out to tackle a blaze in a property in the Clay Country near St Austell.
Firefighters from St Austell and St Dennis went to St Stephen after being alerted at just after 9pm on Thursday, March 13.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, they confirmed smoke was issuing from the kitchen of the property.
“Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
“Crews isolated electrics in the property and helped with salvaging belongings. The property was naturally ventilated and crews carried out home fire safety checks on neighbouring properties before leaving.”
The previous evening, firefighters from Bodmin tackled a car fire at Carminow Cross on the A30.
