Reinforcing its status as one of the top apprenticeship providers in the UK, Truro and Penwith College has been revealed as a finalist for a prestigious national award.
The college has been unveiled as one of four finalists in the Apprenticeship Provider of the Year category at the national Apprenticeship and Training Awards 2025.
It will compete alongside Cardiff and Vale College, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Salford City College Group.
College representatives will head to Westminster for a parliamentary reception at the House of Commons during National Apprenticeship Week in February 2025, while the category winner will be announced at a ceremony in Liverpool on March 11.
Hayley McKinstry, director of partnerships and apprenticeships at Truro and Penwith College, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to hear the news that we have been revealed as a finalist for this highly respected national award.
“The college constantly strives to deliver the highest quality, career-driven qualifications and opportunities that encourage our students to look, reach and go further. Achieving a place as a finalist at the national Apprenticeship and Training Awards 2025 is testament to all the hard work of staff, apprentices and the top employers across Cornwall that support our curriculum.”
Run jointly by FE Week and the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) and delivered in partnership with City and Guilds, the record-breaking awards attracted more than 600 nominations from employers, training providers, colleges and universities from across the country.
The college’s employer partners, Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth and WES Engineering Solutions in Redruth, have also been announced as finalists in their respective categories.
The college will hold apprenticeship training open events at its campuses in Truro tomorrow and Penzance on Thursday, January 16, both from 5pm to 8pm. Find out more and book a place at www.truro-penwith.ac.uk/open-events
