The resident hedgehog family on Truro’s Trafalgar roundabout has welcomed a new addition.
Little Harlyn the hedgehog had his name chosen “for its Cornish emphasis” by mayor Cllr Carol Swain from suggestions made by pupils from Archbishop Benson primary school.
He joins parents Denzel and Patricia, brother Cyril and sister Kizzy on the main junction between the A39 and the B3284 to Perranporth.
Made by willow artist Emma Scott at her studio in St Issey, the popular spiny mascots first appeared in 2019 and earned the city the title of best roundabout in the UK, awarded by the Roundabout Appreciation Society and featured on the front page of its annual calendar.
Last year they were given a facelift after birds took patches of coco fibre to line their nests.
