Cornwall Council is seeking listed building consent to renew the copper roof to the council chamber at New County Hall in Truro.

The roof dates back to the 1960s when the Brutalist-style offices were built, and has reached the end of its life. A condition survey has declared it economically unviable to repair.

The council plans to replace it on a ‘like-for-like’ basis to retain the design qualities of the listed building, maintain the thermal performance of the building and ensure protection from the elements.
