Fire ripped through a Camborne bus depot in the early hours of Saturday morning, March 22.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue confirmed that officers had been called to Williams Travel in Dolcoath Road, Camborne, to deal with a large fire in an industrial unit used to store buses and caravans.
Appliances from Tolvaddon, Perranporth, Falmouth and St Ives were in attendance along with the aerial ladder platform from Truro and the water carrier from Helston, plus two flexi-duty officers. There were four breathing apparatus in use along with two main jets and a water shuttle. An investigation was due to take place on Monday.
Williams Travel was launched in 1983 with one coach and plans to run weekends mystery tours. Today it claims to be “the largest family run coach company in Cornwall”.
A spokesperson confirmed that the company was still operating, and the minimal number of clients affected have been contacted.
“Williams Travel would like to thank everyone for their kind comments and support in the aftermath of the fire this weekend on part of our site,” they added. "All holidays and day tours are running as planned, so please still look forward to enjoying our excellent services as usual.”
