Members of the public are invited to view proposals for the redevelopmentof Cornwall College St Austell. An exhibition will take place on April 25 from2pm to 7pm at The Keay Theatre, including visuals of the campus redevelopmentand give people the opportunity to speak with members of the team before aplanning application is submitted in May.
The campus was named as one of just 16 colleges in Englandto receive significant investment as part of the Government’s Further EducationCapital Transformation Fund, which was launched in September 2020 to rebuildand transform college estates into modern spaces meeting the needs of the studentsand communities they serve.
Concept designs for the campus were released by appointedcontractor BAM. John Evans, principal and chief executive of the CornwallCollege Group, said: "This is absolutely massive for the St Austellcommunity and surrounding areas, and for those wanting a positive, vibrant andmeaningful education delivered in the most inspirational buildings in theregion.
"Our learners will benefit from the most modern andengaging college facilities in the country, with the added bonus of being oneof the first carbon neutral colleges in the UK. These are incredibly excitingtimes for St Austell.”
The exhibition will also be posted on the college website atwww.cornwall.ac.uk/campus-developments
