A Newquay choir is staging its annual Christmas concert to get the community into the festive spirit.

Newquay Singers will be holding the event at St Michael's Church on Saturday, December 21, at 7pm.

The choir will be performing various works including The First Nowell, Sweet silent night, A Maiden most Gentle, Jingle Bells and Away in a Manger.

Patron secretary Anthony Weight said: “The choir has seen a big increase in membership over the past two years under its new director Tony Harries, and there will be a variety of music; ancient and modern, with close harmony singing, along with readings, poetry, humour, a piano duet and carols for the audience.”

Tickets on the door, under 16's free.
