Callington professional Roelof Van Der Merwe took four wickets as Hayle were bowled out for 177 in 43.4 overs after the home side amassed 223 in 49 overs after winning the toss.
Van Der Merwe, who will be available to Callington when his services are not required by his county team Somerset, ended with figures of four for 25 from 9.4 overs, which included three maidens.
Harry Sawyers weighed in with three for 51 and overseas player Liam Lindsay took two for 18 from seven excellent overs.
Hayle had made a great start to their chase with openers Sam Mycock (44) and Mitchell Oliver (23) putting on 75 before they were dismissed within a couple of overs of each other.
Tom Sharp was then trapped lbw by Van Der Merwe for one as Hayle slipped from 75 for no wicket to 79 for three, with Matt Lello the fourth to go, bowled by Sawyers, having made only a single.
Tim Marrion launched the fightback with a fine 45, which included six fours, before being stumped his by opposite number Fred Wilkinson as Hayle collapsed from 172 for four to 177 all out.
Earlier, Joe White made a fine half century with four boundaries, Ben Ellis hit four fours and two sixes in a swashbuckling middle order 38, while Toby May made 27 and Wilkinson 15 late in the innings.
Openers Aidan Libby (25) and skipper Luke Brenton (26) had given Callington a sound foundation on which to build with a 53 partnership.
Callington travel to leaders Penzance on Saturday.
