MANAGER Paul Wotton was delighted after his criticism of the Truro City players brought a positive response from them at Bracknell Town on Saturday.

Wotton was critical of the White Tigers after their 2-1 defeat at Poole but after the 3-0 win at the SB Stadium, he told the club website: “It was great to see the boys react in the right manner.

“To a man they worked very hard. The boys wanted to prove a point to me, they didn’t like what I said last week, nor should they.”

City now have two successive home games, with Salisbury visiting Bolitho Park on Saturday, with a 3pm kick-off, followed next Wednesday by Bracknell (7.45pm).

A brace from Harvey Greenslade and a strike from Rocky Neal gave City a deserved but hard-earned victory at their place. Greenslade opened the scoring in the first half and struck again early in the second half.

Neal completed the scoring with a good finish late on.

Bracknell then had a header at the back post go over the bar before City broke the deadlock just past the half hour mark.

Dan Sullivan was picked out in the box by Neal. He clipped the ball back across goal where Greenslade was waiting to simply head home from close range to give City a deserved lead. City keeper James Hamon was called into action again two minutes into the second half with one of the saves of the season. He dived high to his right to push away a header that seemed destined for the top corner.

Truro doubled their lead on 51 minutes. Neal’s deflected cross fell to Greenslade who shot first time to make it 2-0. Neal got a deserved goal 15 minutes from time.
