STICKER have continued their remarkable recruitment drive in recent days with a plethora of new signings, the majority from neighbours AFC St Austell.
The Burngullow Park club endured a tough 2023/24 season, finishing bottom of SWPL Premier West, but the villagers under new managers Craig Holman and Dan Nancarrow look set for a much better time of it this time around having been given a reprieve.
Last week they announced the arrivals of Kieran Powell, Jake Chafer and Fin Nancarrow, and Sticky have continued to build together a much better squad.
The fourth signing, announced last Tuesday was versatile attacker Tom Guest from St Austell.
Guest, although primarily used off the bench, scored several key goals as the Lillywhites earned promotion to the Western League Premier Division.
He is joined by another member of that squad, no-nonsense centre-half Harvey Hann and midfielder Connor Wharton.
Sticker have also kept a keen eye on St Austell’s big rivals and fellow Western League outfit St Blazey, who themselves on Monday night announced the signing of Camelford midfielder Charlie Hambly.
They have brought in dynamic midfielder Rio Ward from the Green and Blacks, and have also recruited free-scoring striker Solomon Wilson from St Austell Reserves.
Newquay have stated their ambition to win SWPL Premier West in the 2024/25 season, and the Peppermints have announced two further signings in recent days.
Having brought back free-scoring striker Jack Bray-Evans and attacking midfielder Callam McOnie, they have now confirmed that wideman Jacob Grange has joined the club from Falmouth Town, while the versatile Aaron Dilley has returned from St Blazey.
The Mount Wise club are also seeking more volunteers ahead of the new season.
