ST BLAZEY AFC recently held their annual presentation night with Will Tinsley and Luke Cloke recognised for their superb performances.

The Blaise Park outfit were at Step Five in the Western League Premier Division for the first time in their history having won the SWPL Premier West title in the 2022/23 campaign, and although they understandably had some tough afternoons, they comfortably finished in lower mid-table under the new management team of Brad Richardson and Andrew Moon who took over after Phil Lafferty led them to the title.

Blazey finished on 39 points from 34 games with 11 victories and six draws, while notching 55 and conceding 68.

A final day 5-0 thrashing of strugglers Welton Rovers will encourage the supporters, although the losses of prolific frontman Luke Cloke, Lewis Vooght and Matty Edwards will be felt.

Right-back Will Tinsley is one of the most popular players within the squad and he picked up two awards.

One for reaching 100 appearances for the club, and also took home the always-coveted Supporters’ Player of the Year award.

Luke Cloke also won two awards. Left he's pictured with committee member Dave Hyslop with his 'Top Goalscorer' award, while right he's with his daughter the coveted Players' Player of the Year trophy. He is pictured with treasurer Martin Richards.

Luke Cloke, who has since moved to Torpoint Athletic, scored 26 goals in all competitions and was the most coveted Players’ Player as well as top scorer.

Goalkeeper Shaun Semmens and centre-back Lewis Russell were the recipients of Richardson and Moon’s Managers’ Player of the Year award, while the ‘Champagne Moment’ went to left-back Reece Carroll for his brilliant last minute winner at Clevedon Town in April, a result which was Blazey’s first victory on the road all season.
