AFC St Austell have bolstered their attacking resources for their upcoming Western League Premier Division campaign by bringing in striker Curtis Damerell.
The former Torpoint Athletic and Helston Athletic frontman is a proven performer at Step Five level and banged in the goals during Helston’s title success last season.
He joins the likes of Adam Carter and Liam Eddy as strikers at boss Chris Knight’s disposal as they look to establish themselves following their SWPL Premier West title success.
He is one of a number of impressive signings made in recent weeks following the likes of midfielders Callum Watson and Max Gilbert and wideman Teigan Rosenquest, and on the management front, Lee Bevan as assistant boss.
The Saints got their pre-season campaign underway last night (Wednesday, July 1) with a 1-0 defeat at Southern League outfit Tavistock.
SWPL Premier East side Okehampton Argyle are the opposition on Saturday before next Saturday sees them go to neighbours Sticker who have signed a number of players from the Saints in recent weeks.
Tuesday, July 16 sees the Saints go to SWPL Premier West side Camelford, before Stoke Gabriel and Torbay Police are the visitors to Poltair Park on Saturday, July 20 (3pm).
The reserves, who will once again play in St Piran League Premier Division East, get their warm-up games underway in the near future.
Nanpean Rovers make the short trip to Poltair Park before the Saints go to St Breward a week later.
There’s a 48-hour turnaround before they go to Wadebridge Town Reserves, while another side known as the Saints, St Newlyn East, provide the opposition on Thursday, August 1.
The final home game of pre-season is versus Falmouth Town Reserves on Tuesday, August 6.
All matches are due to get underway at 7.30pm.
