ST BLAZEY AND DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE LATEST

ST BLAZEY A got a much-needed win at Tregonissey A on Tuesday night to help their efforts to get away from the relegation places, writes Geoff Hawken.

After going two frames down with Ryan Bilson and Jason Cocks winning for the home side, Stuart Dewings, Liam Reynolds and stand-in Gavin Dyche recorded victories to see them edge closer to the pack above.

Leaders Bugle A suffered a defeat at home by the odd frame to St Neot.

Jake Moore and Gary Spencer got the job done but the away side prevailed through Steve Courts, Chris Perring and Darren Lock.

Bethel A moved into joint third after beating Pelynt 4-1.

Bob Stephens took out Richard Broad in the opener but Len Flower levelled things up beating Andy Peers.

Matt Green, Mark Ashton and Garry Stephens then all won to seal a good win.

Leaders of the Rees League, Mevagissey A, picked up the Runabout Shield after beating Bethel C by the odd frame.

Matt Chesterfield and Ben Prynn put them two frames ahead but Roger Smithson beat Darren Powell pull one back.

Rich Lakeman’s black ball win over Howard Brett was crucial to seal the win before Paul Smithson grabbed a consolation by seeing off Rob Blamey in the night’s finale.

Lerryn picked up a superb 3-2 win at St Blazey B with Graham Hoskin, Terry Middleton and James Stephens all winning.

Bethel B took four frames at Mevagissey C with Matt Moore, Craig Nicholls, Ady Dyche and Darren Biggen all successful, although Mark Ferguson winning on the Black to get the home point and avoid the whitewash which was the case at Gorran Haven.

The hosts won all five frames at home to Tregonissey C with Steve Williams, Warren Ball, Lee McKinstry, Rob Bunney and Dan Pascoe all prevailing.
