ST BLAZEY AND DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE LATEST
ST BLAZEY A got a great win at Bugle A to progress to the quarter-finals of the Team Pairs.
Mark Cockayne and Liam Reynolds beat Andrew Best and Justin Oxenham in the opener with Gary Spencer and Keiran Pearce levelling things up.
However, Mark and Liam won the third frame by 50 points after a 46 break by Liam.
The 51-point advantage was too much for Andrew and Justin to pull back in the fourth.
Pelynt won 3-0 at Bethel B with a big win for Jamie Daniell and Andrew Gooch in the first frame and two closer victories for Rich Broad and Len Flower.
St Neot also won 3-0 at St Blazey B as Steve Courts and Darren O’Shea won the first, before Darren Lock and Ant Maddams took the next two frames fairly convincingly.
Dave Kendall and Nathan Shaw, the latter of whom knocked in a fine 57 break, gave Mevagissey B a great start at home to Bugle B, opening up a 38-point lead which was cut to 25 after Dave and Colin Rundle beat Ben Rothwell and Mark Gregory.
But Meva took a 36-point advantage into the final frame after beating Dave and Colin in the third frame but Keith Moore and Mike Williams hammered Ben and Mark in the decider with a 48-point swing to squeeze through by 12 points.
Jason Pascoe and Steve Benallack took out James and Roger Smithson to give Bethel D the lead over their C team, but Howard Brett and Leigh Rosevear beat Geoff Hawken and Paul Baron to level up.
But Paul's great 52 break in the third proved too much for James and Roger to pull back, but it was the D team that progressed.
