ST BLAZEY AND DISTRICT SNOOKER LEAGUE
BUGLE A required one point from their final game to be champs of the Victory League after hammering nearest rivals Bethel A 4-1.
Justin Oxenham knocked in a 31 break when beating Mark Ashton, while Garry Stephens snuck past Josh Bristow for the visitors’ point.
St Blazey A are relegated after losing all five frames at home to St Neot and join Tregonissey B who were already down and suffered a 4-1 defeat at Bethel D in a match which was far closer than the scoreline suggests.
Tregonissey A regained third place after rushing into a 3-0 lead against visitors Pelynt with Geoff Merriman Kevin Harris and Ryan Bilson all winning. But Jamie Daniell and Len Flower pulled back the last two frames.
Mevagissey A are Rees League champions after beating Gorran Haven by the odd frame with wins for Matt Chesterfield, Darren Powell and Ben Prynn who remained unbeaten for the season. Warren Ball and Lee McKinstry were victorious for the hosts.
St Blazey B beat Mevagissey C 5-0 to jump ahead of Bugle B by a single point after they beat Tregonissey C by the odd frame.
Clive Stuthridge had a 30 break in defeating Mark Ferguson which he needed, but fairly easy wins for George Taylor, Martin Richards, Kyle Masters and Gavin Dyche got the whitewash.
Darren Elliott and Dave Tregale got Treggy’s points against Bugle B who replied through Keith Moore and Colin and Dave Rundle.
Bethel B got four points at home to Lerryn to move up two places in the league with Craig Nicholls edging out Graham Hoskin in the last frame to seal the result.
