CAMBORNE will resume their quest for promotion from National League Two West on Saturday when they head to fellow hopefuls Taunton Titans (3pm).
The Cherry and Whites head to Somerset to face a side who were relegated last term and sit fourth.
But Camborne’s superb summer recruitment which saw Kyle Moyle and Jack Andrew drop down from Championship outfit Cornish Pirates and former Fijian international Josh Matavesi commit once more, as well as a host of key players stay, means they are on course to reach Step Three.
When the two sides met in the Duchy back in September, Camborne ran out emphatic 58-25 winners.
The Cornishmen are currently five points clear of Cinderford at the top of the table and, crucially have a game in-hand.
Clifton, like Camborne, have played 13 games and are level with Cinderford, while Taunton, who have taken to the field 14 times, are eight back.
That means Taunton, who saw several appearances from twice-capped England international Ollie Devoto before his move to the USA this month, can ill-afford anything but victory if they are to keep themselves on Camborne’s coat-tails.
Redruth had a summer of change but the Reds will resume solidly in mid-table after a recent run of good results.
They have six wins and a draw from their 14 outings and have amassed 38 points.
They are within four points of fifth-placed Luctonians although the Shropshire outfit have a game in-hand, and a point of Hornets.
Redruth’s next three fixtures see them face three sides below them.
Saturday sees them entertain third bottom Bournville (2pm) before the second shortest trip of the season to Exeter University on January 18.
They round off the month by welcoming Bristol-based Old Reds on January 25.
Camborne’s next outings after Taunton see them face Loughborough Students at home before visiting Hornets.
