NATIONAL LEAGUE TWO (WEST)
Old Redcliffians 19 Camborne 57
CAMBORNE stretched their lead at the top of the National League Two West table to ten points with a comprehensive nine-try victory at Old Redcliffians, a side who had won 14 successive games at Scotland Lane.
The Cherry and Whites had first use of the slope and capitalised on this in style to rack up the bonus point and go almost out of sight by leading 33-7 at the break.
The visitors went in front inside the opening 10 minutes when winger Alex Ducker collected a wayward kick and proceeded to race nearly 80 metres through the home cover to dot down under the posts for Kyle Moyle to convert.
Camborne doubled their lead when a strong run by flanker Jordan Nicholls carried on by Ducker took play to the try line from where Josh Matavesi plunged over. Full-back Moyle again added the extras.
Though the home side soon hit back with a converted score, ‘Town’ quickly restored their 14 points lead when hooker Ben Priddey peeled off the back of a catch and drive to touchdown with Moyle duly converting.
As the interval neared Moyle miraculously recovered from a slip, retrieving a clearance kick to regain his feet and power through the home defence on a solo run for the bonus point try which he also converted.
On the half-time whistle the influential Will Hennessy’s well-timed pass created an attacking opportunity wide on the left which allowed centre Connor Gilbert to romp over (7-33).
Old Reds came out fired up for the second period and were quickly on the scoreboard with a try well converted from a wide angle.
Moyle soon showed his class to touch down his second from a show and go before converting and leaving the field with a personal tally of 20 points.
The Cherry and Whites were well on top at 40-14 and resolute tackling in defence maintained their supremacy.
On 54 minutes Ducker ran back another wayward kick before offloading to fly-half Hennessy who held off the cover to cross for a try converted by Matavesi.
Soon after Matavesi’s punt downfield created an opportunity for Ducker to hare after the bouncing ball, hack on and gather to touchdown bringing up the ‘Town’s’ half century.
Inside the last 10 minutes the mercurial Ducker then completed a deserved hat-trick as he collected scrum-half CJ Boyce’s deft chip kick to scorch over.
Late on the shell-shocked Old Reds gained some consolation with a last play try as Camborne ran out convincing winners.

NATIONAL LEAGUE TWO (WEST)
Devonport Services 27 Redruth 23
THE Reds suffered a disappointing defeat as the Services snatched victory with the last play of the game in Plymouth.
Redruth fell behind after seven minutes to Matt Gregory’s try, but the Reds were soon level at 5-5 through Matt Pritchard.
Scrum-half Will Rigelsford intercepted a pass from inside his own 22 to run the rest of the way which Dean Wills added to, although the Services got back to two by the break thanks to Billy Orchard’s touchdown (10-12).
Redruth extended their lead to 20-10 thanks to Pritchard’s second try and Wills’ penalty before Shaun Crawford reducedthe lead to five.
That was extended back to eight via Wills’ second penalty, but Luke Stannard’s try three minutes from time set up a nervous finale.
Deep into injury-time the Services were awarded a penalty which would have been a simple kick for a draw, but the hosts went for the corner and a driving maul was finished off by fly-half Richard Goldsby-West to spark delirium in the home end.
