THE latest player to have signed a contract for the Cornish Pirates is scrum-half Will Rigelsford, who had featured in all three of the club’s pre-season games.
Aged 26, Southampton-born Will has also played for the Royal Navy, where he is an engineering technician marine engineer, plus he has represented the UKAF (United Kingdom Armed Forces) side, besides skippering the Royal Navy 7s team.
Pleased to officially welcome Will on board, Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Gavin Cattle has said: “Training pre-season with us on trial, Will has shown he has a great work ethic and a lot of character, and we are delighted to officially welcome him into the squad.
“As he now strengthens that nine position, we feel he is someone who will benefit from a full-time environment, whilst his signing also helps maintain that special relationship we have with the Royal Navy.”
