IMERYS Bowling Club in St Austell held their annual opening day on Saturday, April 13.
A warm welcome was given to everyone who attended the Opening Day, while the club looks forward to a successful season after the green was opened by club vice-president John Vine.
Their President from Imerys, Gary Staddon, is unwell and the club sends him their best wishes.
Over the winter months the members have improved and updated the facilities which they feel are very welcoming to all the members and visitors alike. Grateful thanks has to be given to everyone for their hard work.
Two of the lady members have been appointed to special positions on other committees.
Mandy Kellow is standing as Group Three vice-chairman for this season and taking the role of chairman in 2025, while Helen Pollard has taken the position of Bowls Cornwall Junior Vice-President.
The Club wish them every success in their new jobs.
Anyone looking for a new hobby will be more than welcome to join the club.
Whether they wish to play just for fun, be a little bit more competitive at club level or aspire to represent Cornwall, there will always be someone to guide you. There are no limitations on age or ability.
