NEWQUAY AFC have appointed Jack Hunter as their new chairman.
He steps into the job after the role was vacant for the past three seasons.
In a club statement, Newquay AFC said: “Jack brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community-driven success to our club.
His leadership and vision will be instrumental in driving Newquay AFC to new heights, both on and off the field. We are confident that under his guidance, we will achieve great things together.
“Join us in welcoming Jack to the Newquay AFC family and let’s show our support and enthusiasm for this new chapter in our club’s history!”
Reflecting on the announcement, Jack said: “It is with great honour that I accept the role of chairman at Newquay AFC.
“My ties to the club run deep having played for both the youth and senior men’s teams.
In the late 1990s my father proudly sponsored the club for several seasons, and now, I continue this legacy as the main sponsor through Newquay Garden Centre.
“Alongside the dedicated committee, volunteers and management team, I am committed to fostering a club culture and matchday experience, both on and off the pitch, that resonates with our supporters and brings pride to our town.
“Moreover, I am delighted to share that our club’s growth extends to our relationship with Newquay AFC Youth. Together, we have a joint ambition of retaining talent in Newquay.
“Nurturing young players, and providing them with opportunities to thrive within our club. This collaborative effort reinforces our commitment to the development of football talent at all levels within our community.”
Newquay have two men’s teams playing in the South West Peninsula League Premier West and St Piran League Division One East as well as a vets team and under 18s team.
