ST BLAZEY'S Cornwall Senior Cup hopes are over for another season after they suffered a 3-1 defeat at Toolstation Western League Premier Division rivals Falmouth Town last night.

Falmouth took the lead when Joe Cooper, an early replacement for the injured Aaron Dilley, headed into his own net.

The hosts then all but put the game to bed with two goals in three minutes leading up to the break.

A free header at the back post was headed across to Luke Barner for an easy finish in the 37th minute, and that was quickly followed by Jacob Grange slotting home after a cross to the back post.

St Blazey produced an improved display after the interval, and Luke Cloke gave them hope by pulling a goal back in the 69th minute when he headed home from a corner.

But Falmouth saw out the rest of the game to secure their place in tomorrow's semi-final draw.
