Newquay boxer Brad Pauls returns to fighting action this weekend bidding to become the English middleweight champion.
The 29-year-old, affectionately known as The Newquay Bomb, takes on current champion Tyler Denny (31) at the OVO Wembley Arena live on Sky Sports on Saturday night.
Pauls told the Voice: “Denny’s a good fighter who has beaten a few up-and-coming prospects recently.
“My preparation is going great, I’ve been training really hard and I’m really motivated, especially with all the messages from the locals wanting me to bring that belt back to Cornwall.
“I’ve been locked away in a training camp in Essex, working really hard and doing whatever it takes.
“I have so much love for everyone who supports me. I really want to do them proud and bring that belt back to Cornwall. I couldn’t do it without the support I get.”
Denny, a southpaw from Rowley Regis in the West Midlands, has won 19 of his 21 professional bouts, while Pauls is unbeaten in his 16 pro fights.
Denny said: “Brad’s a very good fighter but my experience should put me in a good place.”
