THE prospect of life in the Western League for St Blazey became reality this week when the constitution of the premier division was announced.

The Green & Blacks will be part of a 19-team line-up and their away trips will take them as far as Bristol.

They join five other Cornwall-based clubs in the division – Saltash United, Falmouth Town, Helston Athletic, Millbrook and Torpoint Athletic.

St Blazey were promoted from the South West Peninsula League premier west and the premier east champions, Brixham, are also stepping up to the Western League.

Other promoted teams are Nailsea & Tickenham and Oldland Abbotonians from Western League division one.

St Blazey's rivals AFC St Austell will be joined in the 17-team SWPL premier west by Truro City Reserves, who have been promoted from the St Piran League.
