Julie, the owner of Bracken Bank, commented: "We viewed the house during Covid restrictions so we were allowed literally 10 minutes. We fell in love with the view that day, as for the house that was a different story!

“The property was one of two properties sold that day after being left to Macmillan. The auction was held at the Minack Theatre on a glorious August day. We drove down for the auction and with much trepidation, we started bidding, we went way over what we intended, and when the hammer came down it was mixed emotions of both elation and panic!

“Shortly after, when we set about designing our forever home the main criteria was to take in the views from as many rooms as possible. We wanted an inviting home where we would have room for family to visit and I believe we have achieved that. From the moment you walk in, the view is captivating.

“The build took just over 12 months to complete. There were challenges along the way, it wasn’t a great time to be building! Covid had meant that many materials were in short supply and most builders and trades were busy. This meant that it was difficult to stick to any budget we set. Once we started, we needed to keep going and we wanted to finish it to the highest standard possible.

“The decision to let the house was born out of a need to try and recoup some of the savings we had ploughed into the build. It was a difficult decision, after all, we had poured our heart and soul into refurbing Bracken Bank!

“We weren’t sure how we would feel about other people enjoying what would be our forever home.  We need not have worried, the team at Cornish Horizons have ensured that Bracken Bank always looks its best and our lovely guests have looked after our home. The reviews have been brilliant, and we already have returning guests."

The property is available to book through Cornish Horizons.
