WORK is underway to extend the popular walking and cycling path at the Barrowfields.
Cornwall Council is extending the path through to Lusty Glaze, which is taking place in stages up until next spring.
The perimeter fence is also being replaced whilst seats, handrails and steps will be spruced up.
There will additionally be new planting in the areas adjoining the main Barrowfield site as part of the council’s Urban Green Shoots scheme.
The project is funded by the UK government through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Council said: “The surfaced path will improve access, particularly for people with pushchairs and mobility issues, as well as cyclists.”
