THE Beaches and Cream Newquay Women’s Institute has donated £1,576 pounds following its fundraising efforts.

Members gathered to present the cheque to the Mermaid Centre, which was the WI’s chosen charity of the year.

A spokesperson for Beaches and Cream WI said: “The charity is close to our hearts as some members have accessed their services, so we are very aware of their great care personally.

“To the raise the money we held two main events which were a Pretty in Pink afternoon tea and a quiz evening. Both were enjoyable events as well as raising well needed money to boost our charity fund.”
