AFTER 38 years of service Sue Denning has retired from Camborne’s Tesco store.

Sue has been suffering from ill health recently and has decided now is the time to call it a day. For nearly four decades, Sue has enjoyed chatting to customers both new and old. Some of her happiest moments were when she worked on the fresh fish counter for 19 years.

Over the past few years she has taken part in various fundraising events such as doing a whole shift in total silence and being locked in a cage, both of which raised lots of money and lifted the spirits of colleagues and customers alike.

Andrew J Magor, services manager at Tesco Camborne said: “We will miss Sue as she is always up for a chat and always has a smile, very often people will queue at her till just to chat with her even though others are empty.”

Sue will be in store on Monday, March 3 to see customers from 2pm. There is a card and collection going at the customer service desk for those who wish to contribute.

Andrew concluded “We will miss her and wish her well.”
