A 20-year-old woman suffered significant injuries in a road traffic collision on the A30 on Saturday.

Police were called at around 5.10pm to a report of a collision on the westbound section of the A30 between Victoria and Highgate Hill. The collision involved a purple Ford Fiesta hatchback and a blue Renault Trafic van.

As a result of the incident, the woman had to be conveyed to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance where she remains in a serious condition.

A man in his 30s from Camborne was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on police bail until 5 April.

Officers from the roads policing team, supported by local officers, conducted a thorough investigation of the scene. Road closures in both directions of the A30 were put into place with diversions.

Police would like to thank members of the public for their patience while the road was closed for the duration of the forensic collision investigation.
