WORKERS with a waste firm in Cornwall have cleaned up for charity.
Teams of employees at SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK have taken part in a series of simultaneous car wash events at several sites across the South West.
One of the car washes took place at the St Dennis incinerator site in the Clay Country.
Employees worked together to raise money for Macmillan and the British Heart Foundation.
A SUEZ spokesperson said: “By combining their skills and resources, they were able to plan and execute a successful car wash fundraiser that gained great support from colleagues and raised £1,100. There are plans to continue raising money throughout the coming months.”
Manager Paul Walker said: “We wanted to find a fun and inclusive way to raise money for causes that are important to us. By organising these car wash events at our company sites, we are not only raising funds for great causes, but also bringing our team together for a common goal, as well as getting very wet!”
Another staff member, Emma Barr, said: “We’re thrilled with the success of our car wash events and are grateful for the support of our colleagues who have helped us make a real difference.”
