Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help give Camborne a clean-up.
Twenty-four members of the Green and Clean Of Camborne Group The Big Clean-up carried out a litter pick along various roads and streets.
The area given a clean included parts of Barripper, Penponds, Beacon, and Pengegon, many back lanes and some parks, Other areas given a clean up were footpaths including Beacon to Pengegon and Tregenna lane to Boundervean lane and the old mineral Tramway from Roskear to North Roskear Road.
The group collected 20 bags of litter plus other small items.
Paul White, the chairman of Green & Clean Of Camborne Group, said: “A very big thank you to all 24 volunteers who helped out during the last few days to clean up Camborne especially the ones that turned out today and braved the very heavy showers.
“This was the last official litter pick of 2023 but us members of the group will still continue to keep the roads, streets, back lanes, footpaths and parks as clean and tidy as possible on a regular basis throughout the Camborne parish.
“A few people contacted me saying that they couldn’t make the clean up but they could do another day which was great as I would rather have something done rather than nothing at all.
“Since the last clean up a month ago and given the size of the area we covered throughout Camborne I was delighted to see another big improvement of our town and surrounding areas.
“I know we shouldn’t have to do this but that’s the way it is without us doing it Camborne would be far worse.
“Big thank you to John Mankee and his Biffa team who will collect the rubbish bags as soon as possible.”
