ST STEPHEN Pantomime Company is enjoying a run of success – oh, yes, it is!
At the Clay Village Panto Awards evening, the group was delighted to receive the prize for the best overall pantomime for 2024, out of the eight pantomime groups in the area - Bugle, Indian Queens, St Dennis, St Enoder, St Stephen, Roche, Trewoon Panto Group and Trewoon Village.
The company, which put on Hansel and Gretel, also picked up first prizes for overall costumes and overall music.
Younger cast members Noah Richards and Scarlett Freckelton were awarded first place in the junior age categories for their performances as Hansel and Gretel.
A spokesperson said: “All in all this was a great achievement for our panto company, which is still celebrating after our 2023 panto production of Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood was given the best pantomime award by the Cornwall Drama Association (CDA).
“Meanwhile, some of our members will be attending the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) South West Awards where the 2023 production has received a nomination in the best pantomime category.
“Everyone at the St Stephen Pantomime Company is just so pleased to have received the nomination – a great achievement for a village pantomime group.”
