Truro City Council is looking forward to the New Year’s Eve celebrations on Saturday, December 31, in which there will be two fireworks displays in the city.
Family fireworks will be let off at 7.30pm with a traditional midnight display – both of which can be viewed from Lemon Quay.
The family fireworks were first introduced in 2019, but have been unable to take place since due to the pandemic.
This year, thanks to support and donations from people and businesses in the community, the council is also able to offer £3 vouchers to children attending.
The vouchers will be given out for free and can be used towards the cost of food or refreshments from the Raymond’s stall on Lemon Quay.
From 6.30pm on New Year’s Eve, children will be able to collect their vouchers from volunteers, who will be set up outside Marks & Spencer on Lemon Quay. These will be given on a first-come first-served basis and can only be used on the evening of Saturday, December 31.
It is free to attend both displays, which are made possible thanks to donations from sponsors, and with special thanks to Truro School, who give permission for the use of their grounds.
Mayor of Truro, Cllr Steven Webb, said: “I am delighted to see the return of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks and I look forward to seeing our community celebrate together once again.
