Truro has been named today as the second-best city for bookworms in a new study (source: UK Saunas).

Inspired by National Book Lovers Day, the study ranked cities in England based on the number of bookshops, libraries and published books with strong ties to the area.

Truro was ranked second only to Oxford, with five bookshops registered with the Booksellers Association, equating to 21.69 per 100,000 people; 19 published books with a strong connection to the city (82.44 per 100,000); and 49 public libraries in the local authority area, (8.59 per 100,000).

Wells, Bath and Durham also featured in the top five.
