Another good entry, especially for the time of year, with plenty of buying power around the ring from the usual contingent and trade still red hot to match.
Steers topped at 296p/kg for the best 722kg Charolais from a run from J B Old Farms of Treyarnon Bay, Padstow, with further quality steers from the same vendor at 286p/kg for a 699kg South Devon and 276p/kg for a 794kg Charolais thereafter.
Mr P E Phillips of Carnmenellis, Redruth saw his 673kg Limousin steer realise 289p/kg and Messrs E, M & S Beale of Porthtowan, Truro had a Limousin steer at 285p/kg and an Angus steer at 278p/kg.
Heifers topped by Mr P J Harvey of Coombe, Truro with his Angus parting away for 298p/kg, a second Angus heifer from the same vendor then went under the hammer for 275p/kg and Mr Phillips saw his Limousin heifer sell for 272p/kg.

Finishing the year off with yet another tidy entry of cull cows and bulls, with no reduction in demand.
Top of the day to 240p/kg for a young Shorthorn cow from Mr K Truscott of St Austell, with a Hereford from Messrs S J Rowe & Son of Reawla, Hayle at 208p/kg next and a South Devon cow from Mr W B Penrose of Praze, Camborne realised 204p/kg.
Messrs S J Rowe & Son marketed their Hereford cow at 203p/kg and a Blue cow from McCardell & Thompson Ltd of Summercourt, Newquay traded at 199p/kg.
Dairy types to 226p/kg for a Friesian heifer from Mr D J Heller of Blackwater, Truro and a Friesian from McCardell & Thompson Ltd then sold for 205p/kg.
Another Friesian heifer from Mr Heller sold for 194p/kg, with another Friesian from McCardell & Thompson Ltd only one bid behind at 193p/kg.

Selling to £1385 for a single 20-month-old Hereford on behalf of Mr R T Dunn of Par, St Austell who also sold a Limousin of the same age at £1360 and a Blue at £1225.
Mr E Pascoe of Helston sold a premium trio of 11-month-old Limousin steers to £1240, Mr M P Carlyon of St Day sold a 19-month-old Limousin at £1170, and a supreme ring full of six 8-month-old British Blues from Mr B R Oliver of Garker, St Austell parted away at £1000.
Heifers from Mr R T Dunn sold to £1280 and £1275, whilst Mr M P Carlyon sold a pair of 2-year-old Limousins at £1080.
Cows and Calves selling to £1860 and £1700 for Hereford outfits for Mr A Sandry of Bosveal, Falmouth whilst a young South Devon from Messrs R G T & G E Gilbert of Ruan Minor, Helston sold to £1540.

Rearing Calves
A good entry of 91 calves this week, with any quality selling on a buoyant trade.
Leading the way was a smart young Simmental x bull selling for £390 on behalf of Messrs A D & J A Bray from St Martin, Helston who went on to sell two Limousin x bulls for £350 and £342 and their two British Blue x bulls achieving £330 and £315.
Messrs C J & P H George from Tresillian provided a quality entry of young British Blue x calves, the best of the bulls to £360 and further bulls to £332, £328, £300 and £285, and leading the way in the heifer section with two heifers at £242 each with further heifer making £232, £218 and £210.
Messrs S Wallis & Son from Helston sold a British Blue x bull for £310, and the best of their Aberdeen Angus x bulls to £245, and their British Blue x heifer making £205. Messrs S S Parker & Son from Callestick sold a Limousin x bull at £295.
Hereford x bulls saw a top call of £260 for Messrs R M & C D Rundle from Mevagissey, and the best of the Aberdeen Angus x bulls to £255 for Messrs A G Cave & Son from Rame.
Plenty of others vendors marketing bulls from £240 to £280. Best of the Aberdeen Angus x heifers to £162 for Messrs J O Nightingale Ltd from Wadebridge with plenty of other heifers between £125 to £180.

Prices peaked at £156.00 for a medium Dorset ewe from Messrs W & R Taffinder of Truro. A pair of medium Suffolk x ewes from Messrs J A & L S M Tripconey of Helston followed closely at £149.50.
Mule x ewes from Messrs J J Tredinnick & Son of Perranporth, Newquay also looked well sold peaking at £138.00/head. Rams to £124.50 for a crossbred from Mr D Wall of Ludgvan, Penzance. Sheep (2T) to £101.00 for Miss J Austin of Penzance.

A stocky pair from Miss A Keyte of Castallack, St Buryan, achieved £128.50, whilst a trio from Mr S McLernon parted away at £125.50. Overall store lamb average £117.50 and many more could have been sold on the day.
