A traditional hunt with hounds, horses and riders was held in St Columb Major on New Year’s Day.

The Four Burrow Hunt set off on a scent chase from the Silver Ball public house in Fair Street, which was attended by a crowd of hundreds of people.

The master announced to the crowd that they were fully within the law and are only chasing a scent trail that they have laid previously.

A traditional stirrup cup drink was consumed by the riders ahead of the hunt.
