The Green & Clean Of Camborne Group is going from strength-to-strength.

Over the weekend 28 volunteers helped clean up the town.

Volunteer Juliet Odgers said: “Myself, my partner, friend and two children helped with the litter pick. We focussed on the St Meriadoc Road, Trerice Road, and Wellington Close areas. We are proud of our neighbourhood and don’t mind giving up a few hours to help it look clean.

“We even noticed there was less rubbish from last time we did it. People always comment and thank us. We hope it will inspire others to join the litter pick team. “

Paul White, chairman of the group said: “A huge thank you to all 28 volunteers who helped out during the last few days to clean up Camborne.

“I know we shouldn’t have to do this but that’s the way it is without us doing it Camborne would be far worse.”

He added: “For the area we covered, the roads and streets were very good again but the major on-going problems still persist in the back lanes especially the narrow ones at the reverse of adjoining streets which are deemed private land.”
