Cornwall was caught in a thunderstorm on Saturday morning after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning, with more rain due to fall this week.

In Redruth, outdoor events at the International Pasty and Mining Festival were cancelled, while at the St Ives September Festival, street entertainment took cover under the loggia at Tate St Ives until the rain stopped.

In Truro, film fans waiting to meet actor Warwick Davis in Victoria Square were drenched in the downpour, and city resident Esme Page caught this stunning photo of historic Truro Cathedral against moody skies and a streak of lightning.
