MORE than 400 people attended the first adventure festival held at the Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre, near St Austell.
The event gave visitors the chance to try out various activities and raised £300 for the nearby Little Harbour children’s hospice run by Children’s Hospice South West.
Centre operations manager Elliot Grange said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the success of our first adventure festival.
“It was wonderful to see so many people stepping out of their comfort zones and trying new things – all in support of a great cause. A huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers, we couldn’t have done it without you!”
Throughout the day, people embraced the challenges, taking on the “leap of faith” on the high ropes, exploring tunnels, conquering the climbing wall and testing their aim with archery.
The event was supported by volunteers from St Austell Coastguard, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Children’s Hospice South West and 1225 Squadron RAF Air Cadets.
