THOUSANDS of England football fans poured in pubs and venues across Cornwall to cheer on the Three Lions in the Euro Championships final on Sunday night (July 14).

Fans experienced a rollercoaster ride of emotions as England missed out on the title after Spain scored a late winner to snatch a 2-1 victory.

Around 750 people attended the WAX Events Fanzone at NQY Sports Centre.

Events director Amy Wray said: “Everything other than the result went brilliantly. The crowd created an amazing atmosphere which could be enjoyed by those of all ages.

“We hope that the whole experience is one that people will remember fondly regardless of the England loss. It was a great uniting event that we felt very proud to host.

“We had requests for well over 200 tickets, but the crowd size was kept moderate to ensure a safe and family friendly event. We now look forward to putting on another 30 events this summer. “
