ST Columb Major town centre has become gridlocked following a road traffic collision on Monday morning (December 30).
Emergency services were called following a collision between a car and a tractor on the St Columb bypass on the A39 at 7.40am. One person is believed to have been injured.
The St Columb bypass was closed in both directions between Trekenning and Winnard’s Perch.
The town centre has become gridlocked with traffic diverted through and people have been urged to walk to the shops.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 7.40am on Monday, December 30, following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a tractor on the A39 at St Columb Road.
“Fire and ambulance services both also called and a road closure put in place.
“One person is believed to have been injured. The incident is ongoing.”
