A CARE and education provider which has relocated to a site in the centre of St Austell has held a successful open day.

Cornwall Day Services, which supports adults with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, mental health conditions and complex needs, has moved to premises on Priory Road.

Manager Jasmine Sutherland said: “The improved facilities and central location will allow us to reach and support more individuals while maintaining our commitment to delivering a high-quality, person-centred learning experience. We are dedicated to empowering the individuals we support by helping them build confidence, resilience and the skills they need for greater independence.

“The open day has generated lots of interest and referrals. I am confident Cornwall Day Services will continue to develop, enabling us to provide enhanced support to a broader range of individuals. It’s a fantastic opportunity for current and future people who access the service.”

Cornwall Day Services, part of Salutem Care and Education, welcomed St Austell deputy mayor Colin Hamilton who cut a ribbon to officially open the centre in premises formerly used by the Audiology Centre.

A spokesperson said: “The new Priory Road site is ideally situated close to major transport links, making it more convenient for individuals and their families. Fully equipped with accessible facilities, the new site allows the service to offer comprehensive personal care and create a more inclusive environment for all.

“Cornwall Day Services provides a unique, education-focused programme that centres on the needs and aspirations of each individual. Through engaging, personalised sessions, the service encourages individuals to develop life skills such as communication, personal budgeting, housekeeping and personal hygiene. These pathways are designed to promote independence and confidence, ensuring that each learner gains the most from their experience.

“The service also plays an active role in community life, with a strong focus on inclusion and participation in local activities.”
