FIRE crews from St Austell have attended a fire in a flat in which a person suffered burns and a two-vehicle crash in which a number of people were injured.

The accidental fire occurred in Par at lunchtime on Wednesday (June 12). Two crews used one hosereel jet and one jet to extinguish the flames.

They gave first aid to a 53-year-old woman who was suffering from burns to a hand and smoke inhalation.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on the A390 at St Austell the day before at around 11.15am. The fire service said there were six casualties, with four being “walking wounded”.
